
The department of Agric and Social Services in Yaba LCDA recently held a modest send-forth ceremony for their former HOD, Mr. James Akowanu, who was recently posted to Lagos Island East LCDA after three years of meritorious service.
Mr. Akinola Moshood Olalekan, the newly posted Head of Department who replaced Mr. Akowanu, declared the ceremony open and expressed his gratitude to Mr. James for making his transition seamless by offering a platform of service that is self-explanatory.
Hon. Abidemi Adeboye, Supervisor for Agric and Social Service, and Mr. Amos Wusu, Head of the Lagos State Resident Registration Agency for Yaba LCDA, relayed goodwill messages and extolled the good virtues of Mr. James Akowanu as a selfless leader who was always eager to impact whoever came his way.
The staff of the department also took turns to pour encomium on the recently promoted Director, praising him for his open-door approach and dutiful service to the community.
The ceremony was a memorable one for all who attended, and Mr. James Akowanu’s impact on the community will not be forgotten anytime soon.
During the send-forth ceremony, the staff members poured encomium on Mr. James Akowanu, leading the pack was Mrs. Hussaini Aderonke, Principal Community Development Officer, led the pack of staff members who gave glowing tributes to Mr. James Akowanu. She spoke about how he took the time to tutor her on the rudiments of community service. Abdulfatai Ajibola Are also shared how working with Mr. James Akowanu changed his worldview of local government administration and how powerful the third tier of government is in the socio-economic lives of community people.
The staff presented their modest gift to Mr. James Akowanu, which he appreciated. Others members of staff present were Mr. Bamidele Olalekan, Finance Officer Agric dept, Mr. Abiodun Ogunjobi, Mr. Ayeni Ahmed, Mrs Wuleemot Olabinjo, Mr. Babatunde Phillips aka Coach, and Mrs Raji Mudirakat Admin Officer Health Department were also in attendance.
Though Mrs. Omisade Olajumoke Senior Community Development Officer and Mrs. Balogun Muheebat Chief Community Development Inspector could not attend, they sent their goodwill messages to Mr. James Akowanu.
Everybody present wished Mr. James well as he discharges his duties on the island. The send-forth ceremony was a fitting tribute to a man who was a selfless leader and always eager to impact whoever came his way.
