The Ikorodu Oga Lions Club held first business meeting for the 2023/2024 Lions Service Year and Orientation/Club Officers Training yesterday July 30th, 2023. The meeting featured guest speaker Lion Folashade Shotomide, who is the 1st Vice District Governor 404A3. Lion Shotomide explained the roles of every club officer and what the members are expected to do as a member of Lions Club International and members of the Ikorodu Oga Lions Club.

Lion Folashade Shotomide, the 1st Vice District Governor 404A3, also spoke about the importance of community involvement and the role of Lions Club International in promoting service to others. She emphasized that the Lions Club is not just a social organization, but a service organization that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the world.

Lion Shotomide also encouraged the members to be proactive in their service efforts and to always look for ways to serve others in their community. Her inspiring words left a lasting impression on the attendees and motivated them to continue to serve others with passion and dedication.

After the training, the club celebrated the July birthday of Lion Sunday Ikuesan, who was presented with a gift while everyone sang and celebrated with him.

Leo-Lion Olude, the first Vice President of the Ikorodu Oga Lions Club, expressed her appreciation for the support and attendance of several distinguished guests at the club’s recent meeting. In particular, she gave Special Appreciation to the club’s First Vice District Governor, Lion Folasade Shotomide PMJF NLCF, for her leadership and impactful speech at the event. Olude also recognized the contributions of Lion Taofeeq Olokunola MJF NLCF, the club’s Region Chairperson, Lion Raphael Akhigbe, the club’s Zone Chairperson, and Lion Obadimeji, the President of Eko Centennial Lions Club, all of who attended the meeting and showed their support for the club’s mission.
