
Ikorodu North LCDA witnessed a momentous occasion today, as the Chairman, Builder Deola Banjo, along with esteemed guests, including Comrade Sunday Sewanu, State NULGE President, and several other dignitaries, gathered to inaugurate a block of nine office spaces for the Supervisors of Ikorodu North LCDA.
The impressive edifice, thoughtfully designed to accommodate the Supervisors, was named the “Comrade Moruf Onileyan Memorial Building” as a tribute to the late NULGE Chairman, Comrade Moruf Onileyan, who left an enduring legacy through his invaluable contributions to the growth of Ikorodu North LCDA.
During his address, Comrade Sunday Sewanu commended Chairman Deola Banjo for upholding his promise made at the funeral service of the late Onileyan two years ago. He lauded the Chairman’s commitment to immortality, describing his gesture as a rare and exemplary act.
In an unexpected yet generous gesture, Chairman Deola Banjo announced a palliative measure of Five Thousand Naira for all staff members. Furthermore, he directed the Council Manager and Human Resources Officer to devise plans for staff members to only report to the office three times a week. This announcement was met with resounding appreciation from the audience, who enthusiastically chanted the Chairman’s campaign slogan, “Banjo ni Joor, Banjo ni Jare.”
In his address, Chairman Deola Banjo emphasized the importance of being dutiful and dedicated in their service, highlighting the rewarding nature of every action taken. He commended the late Onileyan as a brave and visionary individual, deserving of the honor of having the building named after him.
The ceremonial ribbon was cut by the Chairman, Builder Deola Banjo, his Vice, Honourable Ameen Apanishile, Councillors, Supervisors, the NULGE State President, Comrade Sunday Sewanu, and other officials of Ikorodu North LCDA, in the presence of stakeholders. The unveiling of the building was met with excitement and appreciation from the audience.
