
In commemoration of International Tree Planting Day with the theme “Our Planet, Our Responsibilities, Plant a Tree!”, the Ikorodu Oga Lions Club members planted trees at Ayangburen Junior High School and Methodist Primary School Ikorodu on Monday 17th of July.
The project was led by the 1st Vice President, Leo-Lion Olude Funmi, who represented the President, Lion Adams Oridupa. During the project, Lion Olude Funmi encouraged the students to water the trees and ensure that they are well taken care of, she also promised to check back with the help of the 2nd Vice President and Service Chair Person to monitor the growth of the trees.
Leo-Lion Olude Funmi also encouraged the students to continue to be environmentally conscious and plant more trees in their communities, she also mentioned that the Ikorodu Oga Lions Club members are always available to provide support and guidance for anyone who is interested in environmental sustainability.
The project was a huge success, and the Principal of Ayangburen Junior High School and the Head Teacher of Methodist Primary School appreciated all the leadership and members of Ikorodu Oga Lions Club for their kind gestures. They promised to take proper care of the trees and flowers, which will serve as beautification.
The Ikorodu Oga Lions Club members are committed to promoting environmental sustainability and community service. They encourage young people to become responsible citizens who care about the environment and their communities.
Other Lions in attendance are; Lion Adefunke Esan, Lion Ikuesan D S, Lion Lateefat Abeosunbo, Leo-Lion Edwin-Cole Victor, Lion Omoyeni Tayo and
Lion Ayanleke Busirat.
