
In commemoration of World Youth Skill Day, the Lagos Central Senatorial District, led by Hon. Abdulmumin Edidi, hosted youth across the district for the first phase of the Lagos Central Youth Free Creative Skills Training. The event was held in collaboration with TAFTA and Mastercard Foundation at Onikan Youth Center, Lagos Island.
The training focused on script writing, with an introduction to animation, sound design, and stage lighting. Participants hailed the training session as mind-blowing and impactful, with many noting that it opened doors of new possibilities in the creative sector for them.
The Representative also announced a contest for the participants, which requires them to form a team of two persons to write a script/play not more than 500 words. The contest submission deadline is August 30th, 2023, and scripts will be reviewed by the TAFTA team. The best submission will be awarded a token of 50,000 Naira from the constituency office, with the gift promoting the new skill acquired by the participants. Additionally, the winning script/play will be staged at Terra Kulture.
The training will continue next Saturday, July 22nd, 2023, at Agricultural Training Centre Odo Olowu Pry Sch Ijeshatedo, Surulere.
