Self-discovery is a foundation for individual success. It also extends to any society or country as the case maybe. Nigeria first discovered cruide oil in Oloibiri,Bayelsa State in 1956 before the country began to enjoy the proceed from it. Before then,total dependence had been on Agricultural produce for sustainance of the economy of the country.

Since the Independence of Nigeria on 1st October,1960, Nigeria has prioritized the usage of foreign contractors in the execution of some critical projects. Not only foreign contractors but almost any thing that is foreign is being considered to be of quality without second thought compared to our Nigerian products.

However, Government is not the only victim of this, individuals and society’s preference for foreign made goods and services are also very high. 

Nigerians prefer foreign brand in clothing, foreign rice, foreign technology, foreign contractors, foreign religion and culture than our indigenous produce. Some of those raw materials are being exported from Nigeria. 

In times of sport, Nigerians place more value on foreign clubs, be it football, volleyball,handball, boxing or cricket than the local ones, foreign cryptocurrency projects are not exempted. Infact, anything that is being made in the Western World.

Africa as a whole needs to prioritize their own., discover,build and believe in themselves and their products. The government needs to patronize local businesses to boost the spirit of the key players in all the various industrial divide.
