
Senator Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, distributed 6,000 food packs to vulnerable constituents across the Lagos East Senatorial district. The Foodpack programme is a community-driven initiative aimed at supporting the most vulnerable members of the community. The programme focuses on providing support to unemployed youths, people living with disabilities, the aged, widows, and women.
The distribution of the food packs took place simultaneously across the five LGAs of the Senatorial District, which includes; Ikorodu, Kosofe, Shomolu, Ibeju Lekki, and Epe. The Senator expressed his appreciation for the support of the people and his desire to give back to the community during the Eid festive season.
In an interview, Senator Abiru said that the food pack distribution was to appreciate the people for their support and also to give back to the community in commemoration of the Eid festive season. He expressed his commitment to the development of the communities in Lagos East Senatorial District and his desire to continue to support the vulnerable in the communities.
Senator Abiru also updated the constituents on some of his achievements. He mentioned the Sail Innovation Lab, the first tech hub in Nigeria which was commissioned by Senator Kashim Shettima Vice President of the federal republic of Nigeria and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu the Executive Governor of Lagos State, it was established to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Lagos East Senatorial District. The Senator also expressed his belief that the establishment of the Sail Innovation Lab will inspire the government to build more innovation labs across the country, thereby creating more job opportunities for Nigerian youths.
Senator Abiru also mentioned the Ikorodu-Itoikin road project which was facilitated by him and will commence soon. The road project is aimed at improving transportation and infrastructure in the area, and the Senator expressed his commitment to the development of the Lagos East Senatorial district.
The Foodpack programme is a commendable initiative aimed at supporting the most vulnerable members of the community. Senator Abiru’s commitment to the development of the Senatorial District and his efforts to improve the welfare of the constituents are highly appreciated by the people and the community at large.
