Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving communities and helping those in need through various service projects and initiative also committed to environmental sustainability, held a tree planting event yesterday at Salvation Army Primary School, Sabo Road, Ikorodu, Lagos. The event was attended by members of the club, Principal, and officials of the school.

The President of the club, Lion Akadri Babatunde Adeleke’Sayleke’, emphasized the importance of trees in providing medicine, combating climate change, controlling erosion, providing natural cooling effects, enhancing biodiversity, preventing flooding, purifying the air, and reducing erosion. He urged everyone to plant trees to save the Earth.

He also added that “The Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club is committed to promoting environmental sustainability and will continue to organize events and initiatives that promote tree planting and environmental conservation”.

The event was organized to raise awareness about the importance of trees and the need for environmental conservation. The club members and volunteers planted several trees in the school premises, which will provide shade and enhance the school’s environment.

The Principal of the school commend President and members of Ikorodu Diamond Lions Club for their dedication and commitment to the cause, also finding their school worthy to celebrate this year Tree planting day.
