On June 12th, 2023, the Lagos Airport hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, was filled with joy and excitement as Lion Batife Daisi was installed as the Chartered President of Lagos Vitoria Boglo Lions Club alongside other members of the club.

Lagos Victoria Boglo Lions Club was named after the late Lion Victoria Boglo, who was a member of the Okota Lions Club for over 45 years, she was known for her dedication to helping orphans and the sick, particularly those suffering from cancer. This year, the club’s vision is to locate poor people suffering from cancer and raise awareness about ways to prevent cancer. They will also discuss other health challenges such as stroke and STDs. The club’s mission is to help as many patients as possible, educate the public on cancer prevention, and provide donations to those in need. As part of Lions Club International, the Lagos Victoria Boglo Lions Club is committed to serving others.

The Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Deola Banjo, served as the chairman of the occasion, while Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem, the Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, served as the Co-Chairman. HRM Oba Olabode Victor Fagbayi, the Onitigbo of Tigbo Kingdom, graced the occasion as the royal father of the day, also Aarebirin Hon. Folashade Olabanji-Oba as the Royal Mother of the day adding a touch of royalty to the event.

Builder Deola Banjo, Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, spoke about the importance of volunteerism and service in his speech at the installation of Lion Batife as the Chartered President of Boglo Victoria Lions Club. He emphasized the values of Lions Club International and the positive impact that volunteer work can have on local communities. Banjo discussed the importance of giving back to the community and serving others, which is the core mission of Lions Club International. He encouraged all members to continue their service and to inspire others to join the cause. Banjo’s speech highlighted the importance of volunteerism and how it can make a difference in the world.

The District Governor of 404 B1 Nigeria, Lion Lady Kema Benedicta Ashibuogwu’s speech highlighted the importance of community service and how Lions Club has been a beacon of hope for those in need. She emphasized how Lions Club has been committed to making a difference in the lives of others by providing free eye screenings, donating to food banks, and helping fight cancer. She also talked about how Lions Club encourages its members to get involved in their local communities and make a positive impact. Lion Lady Kema Benedicta Ashibuogwu’s speech was a call to action for everyone to get involved and help make a difference in the world.


Dr. Ololade Kehinde was one of the guest speakers at the event, sharing his thoughts on meaningful business ventures that can be invested in Nigeria today. Mr. Rasheed Olamide Akindiye also gave a speech, which was well received by the audience.

Awards was presented to HRM. Oba Olabode Victor Fagbayi, the onitigbo of Tigbo Kingdom, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Lagos East Senator, Rep Babajimi Benson Member House of Representatives, Ikorodu federal constituency, Hon. Sanai O.B Former Majority Leader Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye Member Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikorodu Constituency 1, Builder Deola Banjo Executive Chairman Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini Executive Chairman Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Executive Chairman Ikorodu West LCDA, Aarebirin Hon. Folashade Olabanji-Oba Vice Chairman Ikorodu LG, Hon. Segun Aluko Vice Chairman Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Ameen Apanishile Vice Chairman Ikorodu North LCDA who is also a chartered member of the Club in recognition of their contributions to the development of the community. Additionally, an award was presented in memory of Lion Boglo Vitoria, after whom the club was named. The award was received by her child, and it served as a reminder of the great contribution that Lion Boglo Vitoria made to the lives of thousands of people.

Lion Batife Daisi the newly installed President in his speech acknowledged that it was a rare privilege to serve as the President of such a prestigious club, and he was humbled by this honor.

Lion Batife then went on to express his commitment to making Boglo Vitoria Lions Club an exemplary club that serves as a beacon of hope for the community. He acknowledged that the current times were tough, but it was also a time when those in need required even more support. He thus expressed his determination to ensure that the club would work toward giving a helping hand to those in the community who needed it the most.

In his speech, Lion Batife emphasized that the key to success was teamwork. He realized that without the support of his fellow Lions, success would be elusive. He thus solicited the cooperation of every member of the club, urging them to join him in his mission to make the club an exemplary one in the community.

Lion Batife concluded his speech with an assurance to the community that Lagos Vitoria Boglo Lions Club would continue to work tirelessly toward making the community a better place. He thanked all present once again and assured them that with the help of his fellow Lions, he would do his utmost to make a positive impact on the community.
