Today, the 7th of June, LASWA partners with NDLEA to fight the war against drug abuse

Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) understands drug abuse can have immense negative impacts on both the physical and mental health of an individual. Furthermore, it can lead to a wide range of serious social issues, such as increased crime rates, domestic violence, and even death. It is, therefore, crucial that they work towards eradicating drug abuse from our communities.

LASWA is committed to playing a pivotal role in the fight against drug abuse, primarily among our water transport workers. LASWA is initiating several campaigns with the setup of NDLEA post in two of the major hubs namely Ebute-ero Terminal and Falomo Terminal which we hope to expand in the future, and also educating these workers on the dangers of drug abuse and the long-term effects it can have on their lives and careers.

The Authority is working closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure that our water transport systems remain free from illegal drug trafficking.

The Authority encourages the commuters and all waterways users to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that they come across during their commute.
