… Prince Usman asssures of continuous ICT Training, total Facelift of the ICT Centre and more Technological initiatives

After a 2-Month Intensive ICT Training for the Elderly, People with Disabilities, Students and Members of Staff of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, the Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat (UAH) led administration held a Graduation Ceremony, while issuing certificates to successful trainees on Saturday, January 29th at the Local Government Event Hall in Idiagbon. The graduands were trained by seasoned tutors on the basics of Information Communication Technology (ICT); Website Design, Social Media Techniques, IT for Business Development, Basic Computer Skills etc.
A total of 100 trainees were enrolled for the ICT Programme tagged Basic Digital Literacy Programme” which was implemented in conjunction with Tech4Dev and The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
In his opening remarks at the Graduation Ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat (UAH) who was represented by his SA on Partnerships and Innovation, Mr. Oluwafemi Ojo noted that the initiative was in line with the #UAH_HEEDS_Agenda of his administration towards making information technology available to all. He implored the successful trainees to utilize the skills aquired positively towards self development and societal growth, while commending Tech4Dev and Microsoft Teams alongside FCDO for a worthy Partnership.
The Executive Chairman also stated that thousands of residents had been targeted to benefit in series of Technological initiatives and Digital Skills Programmes through the next few years of his administration.
Tech4Dev’s Program Lead, Mrs. Blessing Ashi, in her speech applauded the technological initiatives of Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat (Executive Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye LGA), especially his unequalled commitment towards empowerment of the residents. She charged the ICT Programme beneficiaries to make effective use of the skills earned, as they had been given access to the global marketplace for unlimited possibilities.
Shortly before the Certificate Presentation, some of the graduands shared their experiences, which largely include ability to use basic computer softwares, design website, social media PR’s etc. They ceaselessly thanked Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat for offering them such privileged opportunity, while promising to be good ambassadors of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government.
Peak of the testimonies came from Stephen Jacobs (one of the persons with Disabilities) who attested that he had started designing websites, from the skills aquired at the ICT Programme. He commended the administration of Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat for the laudable initiative.
Another graduand, Evangelist Felicia Ugbenofia said the website design and Social Media Techniques learnt from the Programme had improved her evangelical activities, as she had been engaged by top Management of her ministry for ICT development.
Other guests at the event were the Human Resource Officer (HRO), Princess Maryam Bisi; the HOD of Education Department, Alhaja Modupe Ogungbo-Alimi; Ifako-Ijaiye Training Officer, Mr. Wasiu Adeshina; Tech4Dev’s Program Lead; Mrs. Blessing Ashi; Mr. Yemi Orimolade (Philanthropic Lead of Microsoft Nigeria); the APC Ifako-Ijaiye Women Leader, Alhaja Fetuga alongside Parents, relatives and well-wishers of the graduands.
