
The State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN Comrade Biliamin Sulaimon-Oba led his executives to receive the Eko FM Personality of the Year Award on behalf of Nigerian Youths.
The Eko FM Personality of the Year Award started in 1999 with Former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the first winner of the award category. It has since been a yearly award giving to exemplary personalities across the globe. Other dignitaries of honor that have won this category in the past are President Mohammed Buhari, Late Nelson Mandela, Late Kofi Anan, Late Osama Bin Laden, Bill Clinton, Late Dora Akunyili, Late Yemi Teller, Barrack Obama, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Prof. Attairu Jega, Nasir El-Rufai, Evangelist Esther Ajayi, Mr Akinwunmi, and Lagos State Ministry of Health.
These are amazing people who have greatly contributed to the development of the world. The poll was opened on Èkó FM live show in December 31 and the Nigerian Youths had the highest votes casted through on air call-in show. Serap came second while Burma Grammy Award came third.
The General Manager of Radio Lagos, Eko FM Mr Olajide Lawal while receiving the Executives of NYCN Lagos congratulated Nigerian Youth for their doggedness against Police Brutality and Oppression during the EndSARS protest. He further commended the effort of the Lagos State Youth Council aftermath of the EndSARS saga.
The GM reiterated the radio station’s commitment to the development of young people in the state, particularly airing discussions that will further enhance youth inclusion into good governance.
He presented the award to the State Chairman and his executives on behalf teeming Nigerian Youth. The State Chairman Comrade Oba thanked the entire management of the station and importantly the team in charge of the voting process.
He said the award given will geared Nigerian Youth to do more by standing against injustice. He reiterated the council’s position by advocating for quality youth inclusion.
The State Public Relations Officer of National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN Lagos Comrade Abiodun Ajayi appealed to the management to initiate youthful programs in collaboration with the Youth Council. NYCN Lagos also granted a live and recorded interview after the award presentation.
State Executives in attendance are Comrade Agbaje (State Secretary, NYCN Lagos) & Comrade Ademosu Jamiu (Vice Chairman, Lagos West NYCN Lagos).
