Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson GAJ who is currently representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II at Federal House of Representatives has been conferred with Rotary Distinguished Community Service Award at the 35th investiture ceremony of Rotary Club of Okota.
The conferment came as a result of the legislators community development initiatives which has ignited good governance. The Honorable was ably represented by Amb. Abiodun Ajayi, while giving remarks after the award presentation on behalf of Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson GAJ, he enlighted the audience with the good works of Engr. GAJ who is currently representing constituency. He said; Hon. GAJ has implemented numerous transformational and infrastructural projects ranging from Education, Health, Human Capital Development, Empowerment, Road Constructions, Solar Projects, Water projects etc.
Just recently, he facilitated the construction of Ejigbo-Isolo-Mushin Road to three (3) Lane apiece. This project will bring lasting smile to the face of good people of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II.

He also facilitated the constructions of other pressing roads in Isolo, Ejigbo and Okota. He is currently constructing 12 Blocks of classroom (A-storey building) inside Ifoshi Primary school, Ejigbo to accomplish his EduProject Agenda for the Constituency.
He acknowledged that these are life changing projects that every communities deserve and the good people of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II have greatly enjoyed this dividend of democracy.

Children without doubt are the delight of the world. Their innocent views and free perspective on issues around them buttress the universal belief that the qualitative development of any society is dependent upon that of the children.
The above, fuelled by the conviction that the psychological and moral development of a child is not limited to the four walls of the classroom, but out-of-classroom atmospheres that allows for interaction, exposure and learning that is not too formal, yet conducive and impactive, are what inspired the creative mind behind Kismet Kiddies Entertainment, Mr. Temidayo Phillips to come up with Oba Ayangburen and the bee.
Oba Ayangburen and the bee is a spelling Bee contest designed to allow students of the same age bracket to compete in a spelling challenge: an exercise that expose them to a challenge which helps in enhancing their knowledge of the English language amongst other things.
The suspense and emotions that comes with this competition which accommodates primary school-aged children from private and government-owned primary school is akin to that which is seen at reality/game TV shows. Therefore, it would not be out of place to regard Oba Ayagburen and the bee as a double-edged initiative that provides entertainment as well as education.
The contest which commenced with its preliminaries on Monday, September 26 at the Palace pavilion of Ayangburen of Ikorodu according to its calendar is slated to run in four stages namely stage one – DICTATION; stage two – ORAL CONTEST; stage three – SEMI-FINAL and the Grand finale.

According to the release signed by the Project Coordinator, Miss Ruth Dooshima Tsekar, the total number of participants in this contest is about 1, 000 children. While about 250 private schools within Ikorodu division had not less than 2 of their kids as participants, the Chairmen of each of the 5 LCDAs and 1 Local Government within Ikorodu division also sponsored 10 participants from their respective council areas. In the same vein, some participants got sponsored by religious institutions like churches and mosques within the division while some enjoyed the sponsorship of associations, SMEs and private individuals within the division.
“Oba Ayagburen and the bee is posed to be the biggest spelling bee contest in Africa as it is a way of exposing to the entire world, Nigerian primary schools as a pool for the best of brains. Successful contestants from the stage one (dictation stage) are expected to move on to the stage two which is the oral contest and lucky contestants from round two would be at the semi-final. The qualified spellers at the semi-final will slug it out to be amongst the 30 qualifiers expected at the grand finale,” the statement reads
The grand finale of the contest is scheduled for November 6 at the Ikorodu Town Ultramodern hall, and it is expected to record the attendance of dignitaries from all walks of life who will be there to give moral support to the paramount ruler of Ikorodu division, HRM (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu kingdom in whose honour the spelling contest was instituted.
The winner of the maiden edition of Oba Ayagburen and the bee is to go home with mouth-watering prizes like N250,000 cash prize, full scholarship worth N500,000 at Kingsfield schools, Educational android tablet, Ikorodu kids’ ambassador’s badge (staff of office to be presented by the paramount ruler of Ikorodu division, HRM (Engr.) The Lagos Status Governance Builders Independent Group otherwise known as LASGOBIG will be hosting Lagos State MDAs to come and give account of their achievements under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration.
Speaking on the importance of this event, Mr Emmanuel Amuwo who is the convener of LASGOBIG gave an insight on the experience during the maiden edition of Governance Performance Evaluation of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu held in June 2021. Ikorodu Division Independent Youth Movement, officially launched her group yesterday at colour party house, Igbogbo it would be recalled the group Swear-In the Executive members last month.
Political Gladiators across Ikorodu Division, and Lagos State at large graced the occasion to celebrate with the group on their launching and to kick start the assignment at hand fully.
The group vouched to go all out for the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other Candidates of the party for the upcoming election in 2023.
The group, aimed at promoting youths’ inclusiveness in Politics across the Division, restated its mission of mustering electorates for the aspirants in the 2023 general elections.

Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development area, has reeled out plans for the celebration of her 2nd cultural Carnival.
Which will commence on Friday, September 30th and end on Saturday, October 1st 2022, In commemoration of the World Tourism Day, the Ikosi Isheri Council Chief Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, has stated her resolve to engender much more beneficial commerce and good neighbourliness amongst residents of her domain through the Annual Cultural Carnival scheduled for 30th September and 1st Octorber 2022.
Princess Bada made this known at the press conference which held at the council secretariat yesterday, the second edition of the carnival which the theme: Our Culture, Not Our Religion.
Mayoress emphasize on the need for preservation of age long cultural values and affinities of the people, as it tends to say much about the essence of their being.
Princess Bada said that; “Ikosi Isheri LCDA comprises of different ethnic nationalities, in this community we have Hausa, Igbo and the Yoruba. Insecurity bedevilling the land boils down to the fact that there are tribal intolerance, at the last edition we gather them together sensitize them against clashes amongst different groups and now there is no disparity among the religions, that informs our theme: Our culture not our religion.
“This is to tell you that our ethnic diversity and religion does not divide us, we are coming together in one language and to speak as Ikosi Isherians and to go back and remember our tradition our unique colour- Black is beauty.
“That we have a particular way of life they call culture in Ikosi Isheri and these are things we have interviewed the custodians of our culture like the Obas and Chiefs about and they said they have a lot of things they worship, although the white people who came visiting then went away with lots of things our fathers are using as their power.

“These are the things that made us come back as Chairman at the grassroots to make different enquiries on how we can forge a united front on those valuable things we have for which many can partner with us.
