A leading Youth Development Advocate and Permanent Board Member of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr. Owolabi Falana has just announced the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Jinadu and Amb. Abiodun Ajayi as Special Advisers on Special Duties and Media & Strategy respectively effective from April 1st, 2023.
Jinadu Ibrahim, an Economics Education graduate from the Lagos State University is an Entrepreneur and CEO of “MSP Interiors Decoration Company Global Services”.
He is a great team player and versatile youth advocate who has shown competency at various capacities of leadership and service. He once served as the Human Resources Manager & Public Relations Officer at Ileviajo Hotels and Suites. Presently, Ibrahim owns an Independent entertainment Label where he grooms young and independent artistes.
Abiodun Ajayi is a Paul Harris Fellow PHF, seasoned speaker, communication strategist, and a Youth Development Expert. A certified public relations coach with Nigerian Institute of Public Relations NIPR. He is the Publisher of The Mandate Blog; a platform geared towards reporting social and developmental news.
He is currently the State Public Relations Officer of National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN Lagos State Chapter and the State Chairman of Life Planning for Adolescent and Youth LPAY Ambassadors.
According to Owolabi Falana who expressed his confidence in the individuals, the duo have proven track record of delivering value and impact in their respective fields and beyond. Hence, he is well pleased to welcome them to work with him knowing fully well they will bring much value in the execution of their duties.
The man referred to as “BUFFALO” above is no other person than the highly respected Mr Tayo Akinmade Ayinde; the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who also doubled as the Director General of the Independent Campaign Council (ICC) that successfully delivered & retained Governor Sanwo-Olu’s mandate in 2019 and 2023 elections respectively.
As fate will have it, I was given the opportunity to serve as the the Deputy Director of the New Media Directorate at the ICC, where I was blessed with a great team which made works noticeable and impeccable. By nature, I never saw myself handling the microphone until the need came to engage over 2000 students waiting to get free UTME forms from the Directorate of Education. It was actually not supposed to be my business directly, but got pushed by the ‘MAJEOBAJE’ in me, feeling I should just get these candidates engaged so they don’t get bored.
Subsequently, the Director General and a Father in the party; The Chairman of the ICC, Cardinal James Odumbaku walked in and I made an attempt to stop, but I was told to continue. So, It Began!
A consolidated media meeting was held and chaired by the Director General where Hon. Sesan Diani made a comment about how well I performed and the DG who attested to the assertion said congratulations.
This was how it got started and I found myself anchoring events back to back. Sometimes, it could overwhelmingly rise to six events in one day.
Yes, my sincere gratitude goes to Hon. Sesan Diani for his encouragement and support, but If only ‘Oga’ knows what he has put me up for (smiles), if only people could imagine the stress attached to it, but no doubt it gave me an unprecedented fame and I am grateful to God.
My journey in ICC is one that is filled with mixed memories. While I was growing by learning positives, again I learned you can’t be loved by everyone, while the fame through the roles given to me was rising, it also led to the rise of envy and negative talks.
But like I always say, I see myself being part of the ICC as a privilege and that I will guide by a strong focus, so I couldn’t allow those side talks get distracted.
I found a family both in and outside my Directorate and we have since became brothers and sisters which is greatly important.
The Independent Campaign Council is not doubt a place to learn politics and human relation. It is a place where ONLY God can lead you on what to do and not to do because any little thing or mistake can be exaggerated and you won’t be there when discussion is going on.
The issue of recognizing people on the high table was a major issue and sometimes get confrontational. Lastly, the ICC is a place where you must learn to be humble because you don’t know how powerful or influencing the person next to you is. A place where your talent can find expression.
THE BUFFALO A man who has not just shown commitment, but allowed his flesh and desire to be subdued. Mr Ayinde our own Director General is the kind of man you will give an assignment and go to rest because he will deliver beyond your expectations. A man with a kind heart, a compassionate man that can’t afford to see you down.
I see the excitement on his face anytime he talks about the Governor, he’s so confident and proud to share the achievements of the Sanwo-Olu led administration with people.
Mr.Tayo Ayinde knows how to encourage you no matter how angry you are , he knows how to restore hope no matter the situation you find yourself in.
Show me your Director General and I will BOLDLY show you my very own Capacity Director General Mr.Tayo Akinmade Ayinde aka BUFFALO.
THE REMARKABLE BABA ETOO I find it hard to get the exact word to describe the Chairman of the ICC, Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku.
A father with a large heart and never look down on anyone. A pragmatic and dogged politician and still find a balance in the place of his calling.
Despite the fact that I am not too close to Baba Etoo, but I see several times he ensured the microphone was not taken away from me. Sometimes I wil go to Baba and plead if I could allow someone else do so it doesn’t look as if I am doing it alone, Baba will bluntly tell me no.
Baba is no doubt a blessed gift to the Tinubu dynasty and ICC is privileged to have him as our Chairman.
Baba Etoo and our DG I refer to them as 5&5, the synergy between them is more than husband and wife. The understanding can only be divinely orchestrated. I LOVE YOU DADDY.
I am thankful to everyone who accepted me, my shortcomings not withstanding. TINUBU-SHETIMMA and SANWO-OLU-HAMZAT Independent Campaign Council is no doubt a blessing to me and I look forward to better days ahead.
Thank God for RENEWED HOPE and a GREATER LAGOS RISING.
Emmanuel Amuwo Deputy Director New Media TINUBU-SHETIMMA/ SANWO-OLU-HAMZAT Independent Campaign Council

In order to ensure that there is an increase in the participation of youths, especially Persons with Disabilities, in the coming election, Rethink Inclusion in collaboration with Constitution Lab and the People with Oriented Policy and Good Governance organized a training programme for PWDs in Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Cross Rivers.
The programme which was tagged “Inclusive Election” was in phases, to include virtual and physical training. According to the convener who also doubled as the Speaker of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Azeezat Yishawu, it is imperative that the voice of every Nigerian, including the Persons with Disabilities is heard in the coming election.
She further stated that it is most significant that we run an inclusive election which people with disabilities make up about 15% of Nigeria’s population and as Nigerian, they also have the right to vote and be voted for. She stated “despite the significant population of PWDs, the rights of individuals with disabilities are often overlooked and not adequately protected. This is particularly true when it comes to their right participate in the decision-making processes of the country.”
“This is why Rethink Inclusion through the sponsorship of IVLP Grant decided to engage young leaders with disabilities in these four states to educate them on election procedures and active advocacy.”
The INEC officials who were in attendance in the four states trained the participants on the usage of the facilities provided by the electoral commission to ensure that PWDs vote during the election to include, braille ballot for the visually impaired, magnifying glasses for persons with albinism, and translator for the deaf.
According to the INEC officials, the commission is working in agreement with Section 54 of the electoral act 2022 indicating the need to ensure an inclusive election for PWDs, thereby assuring a credible, free and fair election. The training sessions featured distribution of training manuals, shirts and braille manual for the visually impaired participants.
The 2023 general elections pose a major leap in the destiny of our nation with another opportunity to elect our leaders. As young people the current electoral provisions enables us the best opportunities yet, to participate through the ballot and get our voice heard.
I urge you to go out in sacrifice on Saturday 25th February and Saturday 11th March to vote for our preferred candidates, without forcing any hindrence to the participation of other persons.
We may not have gotten it perfectly right in the past, but this and every other opportunity is a chance to make a choice about those we want to lead us.
The President is not the sole leader of the country, hence we should ensure to examine the candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives, Governorship and State Assembly, and vote our choice.
The Nigerian Youth Parliament stands with the Nigerian Youth, and against any act of violence or sabotage that will prevent the will of the people from manifesting.

…‘Young people will be the backbone of Tinubu presidency’ – Youth Commissioner
As the nation counts down to the presidential election, youths in Lagos have come under a single umbrella to reiterate their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Tinubu, they submitted, is the most experienced and reliable candidate to lead the country in the next dispensation.
The youths, who came from all the traditional divisions in Lagos, converged on Marquee Hall in Agidingbi, Ikeja, on Thursday, to unanimously adopt the APC presidential candidate and his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima.
Besides, the youths endorsed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for another term, describing the Lagos helmsman as the most performing state administrator in the outgoing dispensation.
The attendees included members of non-political youth organisations, members of voluntary youth organisation (uniform) operating in Lagos, and their non-uniform counterparts in various groups.
Reading out the decisions agreed at the event, chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Lagos, Comrade Biliamin Oba, said the attendees were convinced that Tinubu remained the only presidential candidate who possessed the capacity and vision to turn things around in the country.
“We watched carefully all the campaigns ran by the major presidential contenders and we came to the understanding that only one of them understands the challenges facing our country. His manifesto is believed to offer solutions, because we have seen his track record.
“Tinubu governed a modern city that could be a country of its own and initiated development plans that have been efficiently implemented by his successors. Lagos, today, has become a pacesetter in governance. On the day of election, we have resolved that all of us will be independent canvassers for Tinubu.”
Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Olusegun Dawodu, on whose instance the event was convened, said the Saturday election would be another watershed moment in the country’s political history, stressing that Tinubu remained the only true unifier among the contenders, who would bring the country together.
Dawodu, who recalled how Tinubu scouted for youths under age 35 for cabinet appointments in 1999, said the leadership tutelage model adopted by the APC presidential candidate had raised and thrown up new generation of leaders working to improve governance across the country.
The Commissioner said Sanwo-Olu, appointed into Tinubu’s cabinet in his 30s, had risen on the leadership ladder to become the best performing Governor in the country. Dawodu said young people would be the backbone of the Tinubu presidency if elected, urging the youths to mobilise members of their constituency into voting for APC on Saturday.
He said: “Among those running for president, Tinubu is the only candidate who stands out with verifiable track record. He is a visionary leader who will take our country to its destiny. Tinubu has always been a true believer in the youth. Governor Sanwo-Olu was appointed into Tinubu’s cabinet when he was in his 30s.
“Today, we have a Governor who has been fulfilling and delivering on his promises. This is a sign of things to come when Tinubu is elected as president. We have seen the Lagos experience and records of performance that have been the benchmark for quality governance. Tinubu is a true unifier; he will bring the country together.”
Youngest Lagos cabinet appointee, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, who supervises the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, said the “catch-them-young” legacy bequeathed in Lagos by Tinubu had created opportunities for young people across the State.
“Let us be prepared to vote on Saturday. We need to continue to build on the legacy set by Asiwaju, so that his vision can lead the country forward,” Ogunlende said.
Special Adviser to Gov. Sanwo-Olu on Education, Hon. Tokunbo Wahab, said it was vision which differentiated Tinubu from other candidates, reminding the youths of the progress recorded in Lagos education system.
Wahab said Lagos would not have recorded the progress if there had not been continuity in the governance of the State by political parties backed by the APC presidential candidate.
He said: “Election is a science of mathematics and numbers. This will work out better if we are able to mobilise people to vote for APC on Saturday. With a good head start of 4.5 million votes in Lagos alone, this will give Tinubu a comfortable edge over other contenders,” Wahab said.
Lagos Youth Ambassador, Zainab Aderounmu, acknowledged the impacts and opportunities created for young people in Lagos, noting that she personally won support of the APC government in Lagos to pursue her goals.
Miss Aderounmu said the Saturday election was crucial for youth in Lagos to choose between a leader who care about young people’s future and opportunists who came every election year to seek support.
She urged young people to be peaceful in their conduct on Election Day.
Speaker of Nigeria Youth Parliament, Dr. Azeezat Yishau, said she personally endorsed Tinubu and urged her colleagues in the parliament to support the APC candidate for the country’s progress.
