Oldies Appreciation Game and Family Funfair holds Annual Amputee football federation in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA ~Ajasa-Info

Oldies Appreciation Game and Family Funfair held their Annual Amputee football federation yesterday 29th of April in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, several games like football, table tennis, children and activities and so on took place. In the two matches played, the first between team A and team B of the Amputee football federation of Nigeria where team B won 3:0 against team A.
The second match was between Olubee travels and Comfort edge with comfort edge losing to olubee travels with a score of 4:3.

Builder Olusesan Daini the Executive Chairman Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA said, “I want to appreciate the brain behind this, it is commendable, I believe we should do all in our power to support . I will also appreciate Ademola Ogunlewe and many others. I believe this has come to stay as they have met with the Local Government. Due to the short period of time, we were unable to make it elaborate enough, We did what we could do and I assure you that we will still do more. In the subsequent years, I will still be supporting you you have done a lot and you need more support.”
He further promised to always support them even after his tenure as the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.

Prince Ademola Ogunlewe chairman local organizing committee of the oldies event said,
“We are happy that we are able to hold this event ,and the rain is a shower of blessing. We started very modest in this competition and plan to make it a yearly tourist event. We are grateful for the chairman for choosing this particular month and we believe this event will be bigger than this, we have present many ex international, veteran referees, sports men and women and it will be good to continue to celebrate and appreciate them. We believe as an LCDA Igbogbo will be able to do more and thank you all for coming”.

Emmanuel ibaochi, captain of the Amputees football association of Nigeria said the event today was wonderful, we have not played in a situation like this with a cheering team. And this is an avenue to show that we are footballers and we can play anywhere , and we are very excited. Currently we have a league and a zonal competition in Lagos state where the team to represent the country will be chosen”.

Wasiu Babatunde, a retired International footballer, said the organizers have done well.”I believe in the forthcoming event, we will see better games than this, I believe that people can come and sponsor the event and it will help boost the fame of Ikorodu.” He said.

Obafemi ajiboye Moses a coach of the oldies games, said the innovation, apart from keeping us lively, warming us up and giving us a life to remember,it’s a good thing. I will like it if it was made an annual program, so we will see each other annually. I have seen a lot of my old friends and I am very happy to know they are alive. I will love it if the next game is more elaborate and with more sponsors”.

Yesterday, 27th April, 2023, Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity was presented to Ms. Olafare Comfort Oladunni by West Africa Youth Council, the youth arm of the ECOWAS Commission; and she was decorated as WEST AFRICA YOUTH AMBASSADOR.

The award was presented to her in lieu of her great efforts as a prominent female personality, with distinction, a leader with passion for youth and societal development with outstanding commendations of the United Nations.

In her acceptance speech, she appreciated the West Africa Youth Council for the recognition bestowed upon her which came as a surprise but a call for more work knowing fully well that the reward for hard work is more work. She also appreciated her principal, Distinguished Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Senator Representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Dr. Ibikunle Ibikunle, Mr. Lade Farabiyi, Mr. Enitan Olukotun, Mrs. Patience Ishaya and other members of the TACT Family.

In attendance were Amb. Olaleru Folorunsho, the Nigerian Representative for West Africa Youth Council, Mr. Lade Farabiyi, The Personal Assistant to Distinguished Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, Mr. Enitan Olukotun, The Media Aide to Distinguished Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, and Mrs. Patience Ishaya, The Legislative Aide to Distinguished Senator Adetokunbo Abiru.

BUILDER DEOLA BANJO INAUGURATES IKORODU NORTH JOINT TASK FORCE ~Ajasa-Info

The tarred and spacious compound of Ikorodu North LCDA was filled to the brim earlier today as the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Deola Banjo inaugurated the Ikorodu North Joint Task Force.

Divisional Police Officers, officials of the DSS, LNSC, other recognized security apparatus, friends, family and well-wishers of the newly employed officers stormed the headquarters of the LCDA to witness the historic event.

Builder Banjo while giving his welcome address said- “Security of Lives and Property is the primary responsibility of any serious minded government. This is part of our efforts to ensure every residents of Ikorodu North sleep with their two eyes closed and it is a cause my administration is totally committed to”.

Banjoo went further to urge the officers to see this as an opportunity to serve the people and not a means to oppress the people they are meant to protect.

The high point of the event was the parade of the newly inaugurated force members. Everyone present were in awe for the coordination and gallantry of the officers.

The SLG, Ikorodu North LCDA, Mr Niyi Odugbesi thanked the Chairman on behalf of the officers for his commitment and dedication to the realization of the epoch making event.

The APC Southwest Coalition endorsed Senator Sami Musa for the position of the 10th Senate President, He’s senator representing the Niger East Senatorial District of Niger State also the Chairman Committee on Senate Services.

APC Southwest Coalition believe Senator Sani Musa is the best man for the job, relating to his track records in the senate and being a loyal party man.

The group made the revelation at a press conference which held in Ikeja, Lagos State earlier today 26th of April.

The group also urged the newly elected Senators of the 10th Senate to support Senator Sani Musa a capable man and an experienced legislator to take charge of the 10th Senate.

The Coordinator of the group Engr. Ade Ifeshile read out the statement on behalf of the group on their stand for Senator Sani Musa.

DG Visitation: Lion Anogwi Anyanwu Commissions Water System Project by Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club ~Ajasa-Info

As part of the working visit of the District Governor of Lions Club International 404A1 Nigeria Lion Anogwi Anyanwu, to Region 4 and Region 5 Ikorodu Lions Family, the District Governor, Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom commissioned the water system project by Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club alongside the water project is situated in front of the Palace, yesterday 25th of April 2023.

Water plays a big role in supporting our communities, without water there would be no local business or industry. Fire-fighting, and municipal parks all need lots of water.

The District Governor commend Lion Asake Wahab the club President of Igbogbo Lions Club and all the members of the club at large for the wonderful project, “I can see the Kitchen project that’s under construction as well, you are doing absolutely well for the development and growth of Igbogbo Kingdom”

“I will implore you to continue to do more of this wonderful developmental projects in your community as the saying goes where there is a need there is a Lion, continue to give your very best to this community.”

He added “I appreciate the Kabiyesi, Oba Semiu Kasali for his wonderful hospitality, we appreciate you for your generosity and accommodation for our Club in your community, May Almighty God continue to be with you Kabiyesi.”

Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali appreciate the District Governor for his visitation to his palace and also use the medium to commend the good work of Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club to Igbogbo community over the years, “Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club has been doing wonderful well in terms of Projects in our community and I pray may the God almighty continue to provide for them and enable them to carry out more projects for our community, May God almighty bless you all.

Oldies Appreciation Game and Family Funfair will host her 12th edition of the competition on Saturday 29th of April, in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.

According to the Local Organising Committee Chairman Prince Ademola Ogunlewe “This Oldies Appreciation Game was meant to be a full time most of us grew up in this community but as a result of what we do, we don’t see each other again . Can we create a day when we call ourselves together to renew the past memories. Free ourselves from the pressure of making money and feeding our family. We know we need rest and the main objective of this program is to create a get away from our daily activities just for a day. Another reason is family, it goes beyond your family and you but as a community, we need to build ourselves.

Prince Ogunlewe also added that “Amputee football,we all know the special people clamor to get involved, I spoke to the committee members that is there anyway we can bring this people in Playing football is difficult, talk less of amputees. We will not only experience what they are giving us but we will also create a platform for special people in our community, we will be able to relate with this people and start projecting themselves further, this particular work is a responsibility for everyone of us, because we don’t want anyone to be on the street begging.”

“We have people that are amputees that are playing football, let’s bring them in and see how we can promote and project them. I think it is our responsibility as a community and leaders i our own field to project things we don’t have in our communities. Amputees football commission of Nigeria and other S.O will be present in this event. I want to implore us to support this players and the present to cheer them up.”


“This is an opportunity to look into vital things, ask questions and try to proffer solutions. It is stated clearly that we are also using the program to ask questions from the notable members on table. We have included a lot of games on the Invitation card , Ibadan poly association will be fully on ground that day. We have scrabble, Ayo olopon, chess and all. This is the 12th edition and a break of three years. We are building on what we have done in the past. We don’t have a venue yet , we are trying to speak with the Government to make our present venue, UA primary school along this road, and other venues along Igbogbo here an alternative venue. There are other plans to operate on other facilities.

The entry is free for all, we need to involve our Local market, The chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA is the chief host of the event by virtue of that the local government are the owner of the event. I can say it clearly, that the LCDA is trying as much as possible to protect this event and many more so that we can improve our capacity to draw people to the LCDA and be fully involved. If we continue to ask people for fund and not add value to them, they will get tired. We will get our money from participation fee and the little money we get from partnership and this will in the future draw more sponsors.

Mr. Tolulope Faniyi gave an assurance they will be medical facilities available, free tests and the likes but they are still in need of free drugs to cater for the people that will be coming for the free medical checkup at the venue.


Mrs. Williams talked about the Children session “We thought of a way of bringing the kids together , we have different games for them such as bouncing castle, trampoline, swimming pool and mountain climb. We are looking at grading the children according to their age for the games. Clowns, gift packs and souvenirs for the children as well as a first aid in case of any emergencies. Face painting will be available for the kids and a separate Dj and MC for the kids refreshments will be available”

The umbrella body of all media practitioners in Ikorodu Division, Ikorodu Media Forum (IMF) has felicitates with the Doyen of Community Journalism in Nigeria, Alh Monzor Olowosago, Publisher Oriwu Sun Newspaper on his 72nd Birthday.

The body in a Congratulatory statement signed by its Convener, Omo’ba ‘Peju Akinyemi, Founder CEO Ikorodu Oga Radio, described Olowosago as a Pathfinder and Navigator of community media in Nigeria.

In the statement, Akinyemi stated that Olowosago blazed the trail with his Oriwu Sun Newspaper brand of community newsreel over 40 years ago, thus charting the path for generations of upcoming practitioners in the industry.

He further described Olowosago’s 72nd Birthday as a unique opportunity to celebrate his vision, tenacity and professional astuteness as a journalist.

IKORODU CITY FOOTBALL CLUB EMERGES LAGOS CHAMPIONS -becomes first Ikorodu based club to win FA Cup ~Ajasa-Info

Nigeria National League side, Ikorodu City Football Club has been crowned champions of Lagos following their victory at the final of the state 2023 FA Cup tournament.

Ikorodu City defeated Smart City Football club 2-0 in an intriguing game to emerge winners of the oldest cup competition in the state.

Founded barely two years ago, Ikorodu City has now won its first major silverware while also emerging the first club from Ikorodu division to clinch FA Cup glory.

The new champions who were first timers at the tournament last season were edged out in the quarterfinals by NPFL side, MFM FC. This win has now placed the Oga Boys in the annals of history as one of the clubs to clinch the prestigious Lagos FA Cup.

An attack by lanky striker, Ayomide Cole led to the first goal after the defense of Smart City were rattled into giving in to an own goal. A determined Ayomide Cole would return in the early minutes of the second half with an amazing strike to nail the fate of the opposing team.

The competition however didn’t end without players from the victorious team winning individual honors.
Skipper, Sabastian Godwin was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament while his partner in defense, Uche Emmanuel won the Man of the Match award.
The side’s goalie, Victor Ogbonna who is famous for his memorable saves during the Semi Final clash was crowned Goalkeeper of the tournament.

The Ikorodu side will now be facing Crusader Football Club of Bayelsa on Wednesday in Owerri as they begin their Federation Cup journey. The team will also be resuming their NNL campaign on Saturday.

The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, congratulates Chief (Dr) Monzor Olowosago, the Publisher of Oriwu Sun newspaper, on his birthday.

In a statement issued by Senator Abiru’s media aide, Mr Enitan Olukotun, described Chief Olowosago as an accomplished journalist, who charted the path for community newspaper publishing in Nigeria.

Your immense contributions to the development of Ikorodu division are also well recognized.

ADEBAM FOUNDATION GIVES OUT OVER 200 FOOD PACKS TO ELDERLY PEOPLE IN ISALE EKO ~Ajasa-Info

On Saturday, 15th of April 2023, ADEBAM FOUNDATION visited the People of Isale Eko for their Inaugural Outreach.

ADEBAM Foundation led by Ambassador Ademola Bamgbade is a NGO that is established to assist young persons and children through the advancement of education: To encourage donations, awareness and participation: To help clarify, organize and prioritize learning: To maintain human dignity, alleviate suffering; To improve the state of natural environment; To ensure impartiality among members of society.

The #GiveinGratitude outreach which took place outside the Oba Palace had some of the Volunteers of the Foundation pay a courtesy visit to one of the Lagos White Cap Chief, High Chief Ismail Oladehinde Folaji (OLOROGUN-IDE of LAGOS)

Volunteers of the Foundation had an amazing time interacting with the older people in the community and gifted over 200 food pack to every elderly present, whilst in return, the Older ones appreciated the Gesture of the members of the Foundation and also Prayed for them.

The kids in the community were also not left out as ample time was also given to have fun and also educate the kids. The children also received gifts and snacks. The kids were engaged in a dancing competition and learned excellent sportsmanship spirit.

The volunteers present and donors all contributed to the success of the first outreach of ADEBAM FOUNDATION one of the volunteers present spoke to the board members about extending the outreaches to borders beyond Lagos State.

ADEBAM Foundation has also promised it’s commitment to the Growth and Contribution of Lagos State and it’s people in their own way as it looks forward to more collaboration with donors, sponsors and partners.
